HAVING proudly crafted over 250 exceptional homes across Canberra, Sunny Homes has earned a repu-tation as the trusted choice for those seeking custom-de- signed, beautifully finished homes. Under the leadership of Sunny Malhotra, the dedi-cated team at Sunny Homes is committed to delivering excellence in every project they undertake.

“We offer a diverse range of residential projects, in- cluding custom homes, bespoke homes, and knock- down rebuilds,” Sunny said. “Each home we create is thoughtfully tailored to meet the unique needs and prefer-ences of our clients, ensuring a personalised living space that exceeds expectations.”

With more than a decade of industry experience, Sun-ny has led Sunny Homes since 2016. Their unwavering dedication to quality has earned the business numer-ous prestigious accolades, including awards from the Master Builders Excellence Awards (MBA) and Housing Industry Association (HIA) Awards. In 2024, Sunny Homes won the Custom Built Home ($400,000 to $600,000) award from the HIA ACT/ Southern NSW Region, as well as the Display Home (up to $500,000) award from both the HIA ACT/Southern NSW Region and Master Builders Excellence Awards (MBA). They were also finalists in various categories, including Medium Builder of the Year and Custom Homes up to $1.1 million. In 2022, Sunny Homes triumphed with three Custom Home awards from the Master Builders Excel- lence Awards, and in 2021, they were honoured with Custom Home of the Year ($500K) at the HIA Awards.

“We’re a trusted, award-winning custom home builder,” Sunny proudly states. The busi- ness is locally owned and operated, employing skilled local tradespeople and sup- porting local clubs such as the Brumbies, Raiders, and Cricket ACT.

In addition to designing stunning homes on new blocks of land, Sunny Homes also specialises in knock-down rebuilds – an ideal solution for homeowners who love their neighbour-hood but feel their existing home no longer meets their needs or lifestyle.

“As much as extensions can enhance a home, there are limits,” Sunny said. “You also need to consider the original building regula-tions. Many homes built in Canberra before the 1990s contain hazardous materials like asbestos and silica. With a knockdown rebuild, we can safely remove these materi-als with minimal disruption.”

Sunny recalls a recent project in Campbell, where major renovations would have cost $700,000. Instead, they proposed a knockdown rebuild for $900,000, providing the family with a brand-new, modern home built to current regulations – improving both their living experience and the property’s value.

Sunny Homes boasts an expert team of building and interior designers who guide clients from the initial design phase to final completion. They understand that every client’s needs are unique, and they go the extra mile to ensure that each home exceeds expectations.

“We offer a fixed-price contract, ensuring no surprises,” Sunny said. “Each client is paired with a dedicated project manager who provides regular updates, keeping them informed every step of the way. ”

Sunny Homes has display homes open at Taylor and Googong from Friday to Monday, 10am-6pm, with additional locations coming soon to Whitlam and Redhill. Visit sunnyhomes.com.au to learn more or to speak to the team about turning your dream home into a reality.
